We have fairly recently began recompiling our suite of programs under Delphi
7 (they were previously Delphi 3).
They run fine on freshly installed WinXP SP1 (Pro or Home) PCs with SP1,
however, when the SP2 is ran, the programs refuse to even show so much as
the splash screen before generating a Windows Exception (with the option of
sending an Error Report to MS).
The only way we've been able to force the programs to work properly is by
running them in Compatibility mode (compatible with '98)
The old Delphi 3 programs work OK with SP2, which made us think it might be
the XP Manifest, however, after stripping-out the XPMan stuff, they still
crashed.
Can anyone shed any light on this at all?
