Virtual Memory insufficient

Virtual Memory insufficient.

I have run three times the same application, which reads data through a LAN.
The problem occurs randomly, with the visualization of the message "Virtual
Memory insufficient" blocking the three applications. Opening task manager I
have seen that: CPU Usage goes to 100% and Paged Kernel Memory goes to 1.5
Gygabytes.

My operating system is Windows XP Professional with 500 Megabytes of RAM.

Why?

Help me, please!

Thank you very much,

Arnaldo Losi
