To have a logo like Kaspersky

Hi all,

I dont know whether this is a correct place to post this topic.

My boss ask me to put an Image/Icon before login to identify whether our
application is running well or not (Red/Green icon).
A machine monitoring application. Any error causes icon be changed to red
one.
In this way, user do not need to login to know if it is running well. Like
Kaspersky Logo locating on top-right of login screen.
I searched it over google but nothing found. How do I do that?
Any idea is welcomed. ^ ^
