The the SMTP server is accepting the email and not rejecting it right away.

Check your email inbox for bounced emails. Just because an SMTP server
accepts an email does not mean the email can be delivered afterwards. Such
errors cannot be reported by the SMTP server at the time the email is being
given to the server.
