I wouldn't go down this road I would take a look on existing SMS
services on the net like http://www.clickatell.com. Google "SMS
Gateway" to find a number of vendors that you can use to send and
receive SMS messages. Some are almost free or very low cost to set up
an account and start sending SMSies to any cellular phone.
To receive SMS messages back in most cases you need to set up a service
Number (I do not remember how it is called exactly) which can be used
by any Cellular Phone to send messages to and they can be delivered to
an email address.
