Are you sure your message reached the list ? There is heavy anti-spam
measures there and to be accepted your message must come from the email
account you subscribed and confirmed subscription.

Depends on the server again !
Directory format vary for standard directory list command. Some server - and
the ICS component - support extended commands to get better directory list.
