Do you mean "without losing connection"?

You don't need multiple cards unless you're planning
on using the computer as a router (ala 2000, 2003 server).

Check your network connection and under the advanced
tab, see if it allows you to add IP addresses out the
wazoo..that's a technical term. ;-)

Seriously, if you're on XP, go to control panel and
open Network Connections. Go to the Internet Protocol
(TCP/IP) entry and click properties and then advanced.

If your connection uses a DHCP server to fetch an
address, you'll have to disable that and do it
manually. Once DHCP is turned off, add the addresses
you want. Make sure everything's on the same subnet
and that your gateway is correct..

Ping all your new addresses to make sure they're
reachable and if they are, you should be off and
running..
