I am now giving up on this. Delphi 2005 is not capable of what Borland so
proudly boasted. I hear C# and VB are the way forward.
After years of happy memorys with Delphi 6, I am sorry to say D2005 has
become a very harsh disappointment.
I have tried installing every download that the Indy website has to offer.
I have offered remote desktop access for anyone that thinks that they can
help.
I have put up with being told off for not explaining things clearly (Despite
describing in detail and even providing screen captures).
I've been told Indy is fine as it does work with C# in delphi. Apparently I
should ask Indy why it does not work? - even though it's Delphi at fault.
To be blunt, I've had enough. I cannot get this working, I've wasted my time
reinstalling windows and then I have been told that I HAVE NOT CONFIGURED
DELHI PROPERLY - Even though it's an automatic installer which is supposed
to set up everything to a working state.
I'm going to wipe Delphi 2005 now and never look back at it again. It's
simply a big pile.
While I'm on the topic, It would appear D2005 has screwed over my other
machine as a system service I wrote in D6 is no longer working the way it
should. It works perfectly on a normal XP box and then when installed on the
D2005 box it's almost like my source code doesn't exist.
DELPHI 2005 FOR .NET (Why do I need VCL version of Indy for .NET instead of
.NET version?) SUX.
