Good day all:
I have searched, read all I could and I am still not too sure about
this so I figured I would make my own post.
I know that Google says "Avoid hidden text or hidden links." but
doesn't that defeat the purpose of CSS in some instances? I was under
the impression that there is a way to hide and show div tags / layers
for a reason, to give designers the tools to make dynamic web site
designs. Or am I wrong about that?
I am sure I am not the only one who has created a dynamic site and used
showing and hiding layers in the site design. Even if is is just a
small area where you want 2 snippets of information that swap with say,
a rollover.
But, if Google might ban you for hidden text and links I am, shall we
say, a tad confused. To me what that says is all of us designers who
use a hidden layer for our design are setting ourselves up to get
banned? I do not know about the rest of you, but that does seem pretty
odd to me. :-)
Any ideas, advice, etc on this topic would be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Mark
