I (seem) to be noticing that hierarchical directory names
on my server-side file system seem be working as
keywords. For instance, I have paths like:
/Pages/Fly_Tying/Montana_Fly_Tiers/xyz.html
and if I search for Montana_Fly_Tiers at Google, I do
find xyz.html in the result list.......not necessarily near the
top of any search result, but there it is, never the less.
I've never heard it mentioned before, that descriptive
and carefully-chosen file path names could be an
SEO optimization that matters.
Maybe I just haven't listened very carefully.
But it might be a good idea to start changing file paths so they
include more of the keywords that work best for any given site.
