PROBLEM:
I have 2 computers on the same network. I could access all websites
except google and anything related to it. I even have my gmail going
through outlook and I couldn't retrieve my mail. Both computers were
being affected at the same time. There were a few other random websites
that I couldn't access, aswell.
SOLUTION:
I tried programs such as Windows Defender, AdAware, SpyBot, HijackThis.
None seemed to work when it came to remedy my problem (although they
did help with other things). The last thing I tried was resetting the
router. I unplugged the cable modem and the wireless router then
plugged them in after a couple of seconds. It seemed to do the trick, I
can now access Google and all other sites related to it.
It was a strange issue, considering that I wasn't aware that my
router could have been affected by hijack software.
