I'm new to this group.
I did spend some time reading the faq.
About keywords and Google in particular,
from the faq:

"The keywords meta tag is used by many search engines, but not Google,
to identify the contents of your page."

=======
Proper manipulation of keywords is clearly important, but if Google
does
not pay attention to the meta tags, then the only keywords that matter
must be
the ones found in the text of various indexed pages (not the meta
tags).

But it's not always easy to create sentances on every page, that
include the
keywords you want to be associated with. For instance, I know of a well
regarded site for a famous bamboo flyrod maker.

At Google, if I iteratively search on potentially relevant keywords,
like:
bamboo rod
bamboo rods
bamboo fly rods
bamboo flyrods

........then I get four different result sets.  Would it help this
site's page rank
to include a small text footer, on every relevant page, that simply
said:
Keywords: bamoo, rod, bamboo rod, bamboo fly rod, bamboo flyrod, etc?

If I that site's html developer did include that footer, on every page,
would the four different
Google result sets gradually become more similar?
