I have a very serious problem regarding my site and want to consult the
same with you guys.
I have developed a website carwale.com 4 months back. However its
online since Sep 2005 now. After the launch of website, within a month
we were the top ranked site for MSN in automotive category provided
that someone adds 'India' keyword to his/her search. We were nowhere in
Google and Yahoo then.
The server (located in US), we hosted the site had a considerable
downtime, hence we had to shift the site to new server (located in
India) with better performance. Its 2 months now, we had shifted the
site. Now the situation is totally different. We are nowhere in MSN, it
doesn't even recognized carwale.com now! Is carwale.com banned by MSN?
Yahoo is the only SE which is doing partial-justice with the site.
Today it returned 291 results for site: carwale.com.
Google is behaving very peculiarly. It lists pages and remove them
within a week. In my office it returns mere 6 results while in Mumbai,
it shows 75 to one person, 113 to another and 6 to some other. Its
really frustrating.
Until the last week I used meta-tags 'Revisit-After' and
'Document-State', but considering the problem, I removed them too. Were
they the culprit? Also we used to have sitemap.xml and submitted it to
google sitemaps. I deleted it too 2 weeks back. I don't have robot.txt.
I must tell you one thing, the new server i.e. Rediff, has
load-balancing-servers. I hope this is not the problem.
The current PR of carwale.com is 3 and in Alexa we are around 1,00,000,
which was over 32,00,000 2 months back.
Please tell me what's wrong with the site? The MSN-thing is most
annoying.
