While watching the (Fox) morning news I noticed that Google has
released a new version in China. Great news for Google, but as I heard
it real bad news for the rest of the world and especially the People of
China.
The main idea, as presented on Fox News, was that Google has agreed to
filter results provided to the Chinese People. The filters include,
but not limited to, any content on freedom or human rights. If this is
true, Google will have started a precedent that could end the recent
growth and awareness of human rights issues, and aid tyrants whose only
purpose is to control and manipulate, for their own gain, the citizens
of their country. This type of blatant censorship, if true, goes
against everything any honorable, ethical, and moral person stands for.
I would appreciate other's views and comments on this issue.
